- Gold futures surpassed the Rs 1.45 lakh per 10 grams mark.
- MCX October contract rose Rs 1,151 due to fresh positions.
- Global gold futures in New York increased over 1.5 per cent.
Gold prices on Wednesday rose to surpass the Rs 1.45 lakh per 10 grams mark in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on firm spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the yellow metal contract for delivery in October rose by Rs 1,151, or 0.8 per cent, to trade at Rs 1,45,450 per 10 grams, with a trading turnover of 784 lots in early trade.
According to analysts, fresh position creation by participants led to the rise in precious metal prices. Globally, gold futures in New York rose over 1.5 per cent to US$4,140.48 per ounce.
24k, 22k Rates
Gold prices across different purity levels also increased slightly in the domestic retail market. According to bullion.co.in, the 24 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,46,660 per 10 grams, while 22 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,34,438 per 10 grams.
At the same time, the 20 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,22,217 per 10 grams, and the 18 karat gold rate today is Rs 1,09,995 per 10 grams.

Silver Rate Today
Driven by favourable global market trends, silver prices in the futures market reached Rs 2.25 lakh per kg. The September contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) experienced a 1.95% increase, or Rs 4,320, settling at Rs 2,25,935 per kg across 2,979 traded lots.
Market analysts attributed this growth to increased participation and new position-building. Meanwhile, international Comex silver futures also saw gains, rising 3.21 per cent to reach USD 61.46 per ounce.
