KKR vs RR IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders' vice-captain Rinku Singh had smashed an unbeaten fifty and helped the team chase the target of 155 runs and register their first win of the ongoing season. The match, held at Eden Gardens against Rajasthan Royals, was won by the hosts in the last over, when Rinku smashed consecutive boundaries on the first two balls off Brijesh Sharma and leveled the score. And then on the fourth delivery, he had smashed his second six and brought up his half-century, and also took the team across the line.
This victory over the Rajasthan-based franchise didn't just help KKR climb to ninth in the points table but also kept their playoff hopes alive.
The Ajinkya Rahane-led side has scored 3 points after 7 matches so far, and if they win the remaining matches, they will finish the group stage with 17 points. These 17 points will be enough for them to enter the top four and reach the playoffs.
If the host had lost to the Riyan Parag-led side, they would have ended the group stage with just 15 points. During IPL 2025, the Axar Patel-led side had scored 15 points after 14 matches, which wasn't enough to qualify for the playoffs.
