KKR vs RR IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals star opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had smashed Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Sunil Narine for a huge six on Sunday and maintained his streak of smashing big shots against senior bowlers in the ongoing season. Sooryavanshi, who had hit star fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Josh Hazlewood with sixes, faced just one ball to go all guns blazing in Kolkata and had hit Narine for a six on the second ball.

He played this shot during the fifth over of the first innings. Narine bowled a floated delivery, and Sooryavanshi fell on his one knee and then smashed the ball towards deep square leg and hit a six.

The youngster has been in sublime form in the ongoing season, having scored 200 runs in five matches at a brilliant strike rate of 263.16, including two half-centuries, except in this match.

During IPL 2025, Sooryavanshi scored 252 runs in seven matches at a staggering strike rate of 206.56, including a century and a half-century, and was also adjudged the Super Striker of the Season award.

Varun Chakravarthy then dismissed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The KKR spinner had aimed at the middle, but then Sooryavanshi played a slog sweep and mistimed a shot.

The ball ballooned high towards deep midwicket, where Ramandeep Singh tracked it carefully and completed an impressive catch.

After Sooryavanshi's dismissal, the other RR batters failed to build partnerships. They posted a below-par target of 155 runs when batting first.

Varun Chakravarthy (3/14) and Sunil Narine (2/26) made the visitors struggle. They left RR at 124/5 after 16 overs.
