IPL 2026: Rohit Sharma has missed the last three Mumbai Indians matches in the ongoing season. He is on the verge of returning to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad later this week. As per India Today, he has increased his practice intensity and might play in their next match. He attended practice and gym sessions without pain. The physios remain hopeful for his comeback.

Rohit's season was halted midway after he sustained a hamstring injury. The injury happened during their match against the Rajat Patidar-led side earlier this month.

As a result, he missed matches against the Punjab Kings and the Gujarat Titans. He also missed the high-octane clash against Chennai Super Kings.

His absence led the Mumbai Indians to experiment with different openers. Quinton de Kock replaced Rohit and scored a brilliant 112 runs. In the next match, Rohit's fellow opener Ryan Rickleton was snubbed from the playing XI.

Danish Malewar replaced Rickleton in the last two matches. This decision didn't work in Mumbai's favor. Malewar has scored just 2 runs so far.

Rohit's comeback is a huge boost for the Mumbai Indians, led by Hardik Pandya. The team is ninth on the points table after winning just two of seven matches. Until his injury, Rohit was MI's highest run-getter.
