IPL 2026: The 18-year title drought for every Royal Challengers Bengaluru player ended last year. They won their maiden IPL trophy. Virat Kohli, who has been with the team since the first season in 2008, celebrated with the players. The team became emotional, kissed the trophy, and held it with pride. They celebrated continuously after winning the title.

The Rajat Patidar-led team won their first IPL title in 18 years, beating the Punjab Kings by six runs in Ahmedabad.

RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya called the title win one of his most emotional career moments and dedicated it to fans and former captain Virat Kohli.

On Jiostar, Krunal said ending the trophy drought meant a lot to Kohli, who struggled to control his emotions after the win.

"The ones who deserve the most are Virat Kohli and RCB fans. Virat has been an integral part of the RCB since the first season. So winning the title and seeing him tear up, visibly overcome with emotion, was special. Watching him cry was an emotional moment for everyone," Krunal was quoted as saying on JioStar.

Krunal continued, "The love people have for RCB is incredible. That day, I told everyone on the mic that, no matter what, we had to win the trophy for the fans."

Krunal said winning after 18 years made the achievement deeply meaningful.

"I'm glad I said it, and we delivered in the final. The fans and Virat deserve this trophy most," he added.

"Playing for the country is my top priority, but winning for RCB after 18 years and having my best season is one of my top moments," he said.

He reflected on his growth as a cricketer over the past few years.

"I have changed for the better over time. As you grow, you learn through the journey. My parents deserve a lot of credit for my upbringing. As a human being, I remain the same. I love cricket, and I am still excited and passionate about playing. I have always been a family man. I love my family, kids, and wife. She has played an integral part," he concluded.

Pandya was signed for Rs 5.75 crore in the IPL 2026 mega auction and retained for this season.

In IPL 2026, Rajat Patidar's team is second in the points table with 10 points.
