The Women’s Asia Cup 2026 is expected to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), although the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is yet to officially confirm the venue. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the tournament is likely to run from August 28 to September 13, with the final expected to be played on a Sunday.
ACC Shares Tentative Schedule With Participating Teams
The report states that the ACC has already shared a provisional tournament window with all eight participating countries and has asked them to keep those dates available.

The tournament will feature defending champions Sri Lanka, along with India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand and the UAE.
While the tournament dates have been shared with the teams, the ACC has not yet released the official schedule, match fixtures or confirmed the host venue. The final decision is still awaiting approval from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi.
According to the report, the ACC sent an email to all participating boards on July 22, informing them that the venue was still being finalised. Teams were also asked to plan their arrival on August 27, with the final expected to be held on September 13.
At present, all participating nations are waiting for the official schedule before confirming their travel plans and other arrangements.
BCCI Briefly Announced India’s Squad
Interestingly, the BCCI briefly announced India’s squad for the Women’s Asia Cup on August 2 before deleting the post. The announcement was reportedly removed because the ACC had not officially confirmed the tournament.
The provisional Indian squad included several experienced players such as Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh and Bharti Fulmali, indicating that India plans to retain the core of its current T20 side.
Busy Schedule Ahead of Asian Games 2026
The Women’s Asia Cup is expected to end just a few days before the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
The women’s cricket competition at the Asian Games is scheduled to take place from September 17 to 24. If the Asia Cup final is played on September 13, the two finalist teams will have only four days to travel from the UAE to Japan and prepare for another major international tournament.
