17-Year-Old Lucky Rawat From Uttarakhand Chosen To Represent India In International North Pole Scientific Expedition

Seventeen-year-old Lucky Rawat from Chakrata in Uttarakhand has been selected to represent India in the prestigious 'Icebreaker of Knowledge' international scientific expedition to the geographic North Pole. The 10-day programme has brought together young students from 22 countries to participate in scientific learning, Arctic exploration, and cultural exchange aboard a nuclear-powered icebreaker.

The expedition began from Murmansk, Russia, with participants travelling aboard the 50 Let Pobedy nuclear icebreaker to the geographic North Pole (90° North latitude). Lucky's selection came after clearing a rigorous three-stage international competition, making him India's sole representative in this globally recognized educational initiative.

Highly Competitive Selection Process

Lucky earned his place after successfully clearing a three-stage selection process. One student from each participating country was chosen based on merit, making the competition highly selective and prestigious.

Speaking about the achievement, Lucky said it was an honour to represent India and described the expedition as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit one of the world's most remote regions.
