NEET UG Counselling Fee 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee has issued stringent guidelines related to NEET UG refundable security and counselling 2026. Candidates registering for the NEET UG counselling rounds have to pay a non-refundable registration fee and a refundable security deposit. While the counselling registration fee will never be refunded, the security deposit will be returned to eligible candidates under specific MCC guidelines. Once the counselling process concludes, candidates abiding by the MCC exit and seat allotment rules will be eligible for the security deposit refund.

MCC NEET Security Deposit 2026: Government Vs Deemed Universities

After MCC announces the completion of the counselling rounds on its official portal, a list of eligible candidates will be prepared and forwarded to the Financial Custodian for processing.  

The NEET security deposit varies for deemed and government universities. Here are the details.

What Is MCC NEET Security Deposit Refund Process?

The refund process will only start after the NEET UG counselling process concludes. The authorities will officially declare the end of the counselling process and prepare a list of candidates eligible for the security refund process. The list will then be sent to the Financial Custodian. After processing, the refund will be initiated within 15 days of notification. The entire refund process will be completed within 30 days of notification. 

Furthermore, MSS will publish refund details such as transaction number and refund date on its official portal. The refund amount will take 2 to 15 days to reflect in the candidates’ bank details. 

MCC NEET Forfeit Rules

According to the MCC guidelines, the security deposit will be forfeited under the following conditions. 

1. The candidate fails to join the allotted college which was allotted in Round 2 or any subsequent counselling rounds. 

2. The candidate reports to the allotted college, but due to incorrect information provided during registration, admission is cancelled. 

3. Failure to present the required documents.

4. Candidate allotted seat in the stray vacancy round but fails to report to the college for completing admission formalities.

5. If allotted a seat in Round 3 counselling process but later resigns. After 

MCC has further clarified that candidates who have been allotted seats in Round 2 or any subsequent rounds but decide not to join the institution can exit the NEET UG counselling process. The security deposit paid during registration will be forfeited. Also, candidates must note that once they join the allotted seat after Round 3, resignation will not be accepted under any circumstances.
