Awarapan 2 Trailer Out: The official trailer for Awarapan 2 has been released, generating widespread excitement among fans of the 2007 cult romantic action thriller. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt under Vishesh Films, the film stars Emraan Hashmi as he reprises his popular role of Shivam Pandit.

Awarapan 2 trailer showcases high-octane action, heavy bloodshed, intense emotional conflict, and soulful music. The makers released the trailer with the caption, "You have felt his PAIN. Now feel his RAGE. Chapter 2 of Shivam Pandit begins."

Emraan Hashmi Shares Strategy On Awarapan Re-Release

Alongside the trailer launch, Emraan Hashmi held an Instagram Live session to address speculation regarding the theatrical re-release of the original 2007 Awarapan film. The actor dismissed reports claiming that the first movie would return to cinemas ahead of the sequel.

Clarifying the release strategy, Emraan Hashmi stated that the original film will be re-released in theatres only after Awarapan 2 completes its initial cinematic run.

Explaining the thought process behind this decision, Emraan Hashmi said, "Fans of the original Awarapan have already seen the first film, and I’m sure they’ll come to watch Awarapan 2 with those memories. After watching the sequel, they’ll leave the theatre with a whole new perspective on the first film."

Emraan Hashmi further added that this approach would appeal to younger filmgoers, stating, "Then there’s an entire generation especially Gen Z that hasn’t watched Awarapan. After seeing Awarapan 2, they’ll be curious to go back and watch the original."

"They can experience it as a standalone story, and in a way, it will become the prequel. They’ll get to see Shivam’s origin story after watching the sequel," Emraan Hashmi added.

Addressing rumours about an earlier summer re-release, Hashmi said, "I also want to clear up the reports that Awarapan was going to re-release in July. That’s not the case. The film will definitely be re-released very soon, but it will happen only after Awarapan 2. We’ll announce the exact release timeline soon."

Awarapan 2 Release Date And Cast Details

Written by Bilal Siddiqui, Awarapan 2 features an ensemble cast including Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Surendar Vicky, Vijayant Kholi, and Atul Kumar. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14, 2026.
