Actor and former Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant Jiyaa Shankar has officially announced her engagement to her fiancé, Kaaran. The 31-year-old actor shared the news via Instagram on August 5, 2026, posting pictures from a scenic proposal alongside a heartfelt message.

The engagement took place during an intimate outdoor ceremony at sunset against a backdrop of greenery and the sea. For the proposal, Jiyaa wore a pastel yellow satin gown, whilst Kaaran wore an embroidered beige shirt with white trousers.
The photos captured several emotional moments, including Kaaran proposing on one knee, the couple walking hand-in-hand through a garden, and a close-up look at Jiyaa’s oval-cut diamond engagement ring paired with a matching diamond band.
Sharing her emotions in the caption, Jiyaa wrote: “So maybe it is true , you do find love when you least expect it but God really tested my patience here.”

Reflecting on their long-distance relationship, she added: “It wasn’t easy but somehow it still was. Every conversation with you even though you were thousands of miles away from me, felt like home. This journey wasn’t easy but we chose eachother every single day.”
Expressing her gratitude for his support, she continued: “You showed me the love I waited my whole life for. You made me laugh on my toughest days. Held me a lil tighter every time at airport goodbyes like your heart was breaking into a thousand pieces. No matter where we were in the world - home was never a place it was always you.”
She concluded her post by writing: “My goofball, my bestfriend , my ABCD, life is definitely an adventure with you and it happens to be my favourite rom-com. I cant wait to spend my forever with you and spend the rest of my life loving you the way you’ve always loved me.”

The engagement announcement comes after months of speculation regarding Jiyaa’s personal life. Reports had previously suggested a romantic link between Jiyaa and her Bigg Boss OTT 2 co-star, Abhishek Malhan.
Jiyaa had previously dismissed those claims by sharing a photo with a then-unidentified man kissing her forehead, captioning it: “Let’s leave false rumours in 2025!” The latest post officially reveals Kaaran as her partner, putting an end to prior speculation as fans and colleagues shower the couple with congratulations online.
