Ramayana Part 1 Release Date: Ramayana makers confirmed the release date of the Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi-starrer. They also shared an English-language trailer, giving audiences a fresh perspective on the mythological epic ahead of its much-anticipated release. Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.

Ramayana Part 1 Release Date

Ramayana first part will release in theatres on November 6, 2026, which is two days before Diwali.

On Wednesday, Sony Pictures confirmed the release date on its official X (earlier Twitter) account. Part 1 will be released on November 6, 2026, while the second instalment is expected to hit the big screens around Diwali 2027.

 

 

Ramayana vs Godzilla Minus Zero

In India, Ramayana is expected to have a strong extended opening because major holidays fall during the weekdays. However, Godzilla Minus Zero, the Godzilla Minus One sequel, will pose a serious threat to the mythological epic in the international market. It is releasing in theatres on November 3, a few days before Nitesh Tiwari's mythological epic opens in cinemas.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor discussed the difficulty of bringing one of India's most beloved epics to the big screen in a recent interview with The Direct. The actor acknowledged that it was difficult to squeeze this movie into just two movies.

Ranbir Kapoor said, "To be honest, to tell Ramayana, you probably need a 10-part movie, but the kind of conciseness in two parts was very hard."

The upcoming Ramayana movie trailer kicked off with a chilling look at the demon king Ravana, played by Yash. Declaring his reign over the universe, he brings chaos and destruction in his reign. To end his tyranny and bring peace back to the world, Lord Vishnu reincarnates on Earth as Ram.

Ranbir Kapoor stars as Ram, seen defending his kingdom with valour before marrying Sita, played by Sai Pallavi. However, their life takes an unexpected turn when Ram is banished from his kingdom for 14 long years.

Loyal to the end, Sita and Ram’s brother Lakshman (Ravie Dubey) join him in this journey.

The tension peaks when Ravana kidnaps Sita, laying the groundwork for an epic showdown between good and evil.
