Popular television actress and former Bigg Boss OTT 2 contestant Jiyaa Shankar has officially announced her engagement to her partner, Kaaran Dhanak. The 31-year-old actress made the announcement with her fans on Instagram on August 5, 2026, posting photographs from a scenic proposal alongside a heartfelt message.

Putting all dating rumours to rest, Jiyaa Shankar introduced Kaaran Dhanak as her fiance, sparking a wave of congratulations from friends, fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry.

Who Is Kaaran Dhanak?

Unlike Jiyaa Shankar, Kaaran Dhanak does not belong to the entertainment industry. He is reported to be a United States-based businessman who operates a hookah parlour.

Speculation about their relationship first arose early in 2026 when Jiyaa welcomed the new year alongside him. Although she initially kept his face hidden, social media users quickly identified him as Kaaran.

The couple has yet to confirm their official wedding date.

Jiyaa Shankar Announces Engagement To Partner Kaaran Dhanak

The engagement took place during an intimate outdoor ceremony at sunset, against a backdrop of greenery and the sea. For the special occasion, Jiyaa Shankar wore a pastel yellow satin gown, while Kaaran Dhanak wore an embroidered beige shirt with white trousers.

Sharing the engagement post on her Instagram, Jiyaa wrote, "So maybe it is true , you do find love when you least expect it but God really tested my patience here."

Reflecting on their long-distance relationship, she added, "It wasn’t easy but somehow it still was. Every conversation with you even though you were thousands of miles away from me, felt like home. This journey wasn’t easy but we chose eachother every single day."

Expressing gratitude for his constant presence, she continued, "You showed me the love I waited my whole life for. You made me laugh on my toughest days. Held me a lil tighter every time at airport goodbyes like your heart was breaking into a thousand pieces. No matter where we were in the world - home was never a place it was always you."

The Bigg Boss OTT 2 fame concluded her post by writing, "My goofball, my bestfriend , my ABCD, life is definitely an adventure with you and it happens to be my favourite rom-com. I cant wait to spend my forever with you and spend the rest of my life loving you the way you’ve always loved me."

Jiyaa Shankar's Background And Career Achievements

Jiyaa Shankar was raised by her single mother, Surekha Gavli, after her parents separated when she was 13 years old. Professionally, Jiyaa rose to prominence with her performance in the television show Kaatelal & Sons and the supernatural drama Pishachini.

She made her Marathi cinema debut in the hit film Ved alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh before joining Bigg Boss OTT 2 in 2023.
