Amravati Case News Update: A new development in the Amravati sexual exploitation case has highlighted the involvement of a close friend of the main accused in exposing the entire scandal. Ujer Khan, who has known main accused Ayan Ahmed Tanveer since childhood, was allegedly aware of the harassment from the very start and is said to have recorded videos of the minor girls.
However earlier, these recordings did not surface publicly, but only some images appeared on Ayan's social media profiles. The matter was exposed following a financial dispute between the two friends, according to an NDTV report.
Sources cited by NDTV suggest that after their fallout, Ujer Khan allegedly chose to bring the matter into the open. He is accused of uploading the videos to his own social media accounts and sharing them among his network, with the intent of tarnishing Ayan's reputation.
19-year-old Ayan Ahmed Tanveer has been accused of sexually exploiting minor girls, recording obscene videos, and using them for blackmail, jagran.com reported earlier. The Amravati Rural Police arrested Tanveer and his friend Khan on Tuesday. The investigation revealed that the accused first lured the girls in the Paratwada-Achalpur area in Amravati with the promise of friendship and relationships, then physically exploited them and recorded videos without their consent.
How Was The Matter Exposed?
The matter came to light after Rajya Sabha MP Dr Anil Bonde and BJP spokesperson Shivrai Kulkarni filed a police complaint. They alleged that the accused was luring and exploiting several girls through social media. Police acted swiftly and arrested the main accused and his friend.
Over 350 Videos, 180 Girls Likely Involved
According to the police, approximately 100 videos were shared on social media. Investigating agencies are trying to determine how many more people are involved and how widely the videos were disseminated. Local claims suggest that more than 100 girls may have been affected, with some claiming as many as 180 girls are feared victims and around 350 videos are circulating on the internet. However, police have only confirmed eight victims so far.
