Bengaluru News: A Bengaluru woman, in an Instagram post, accused an Uber parcel delivery partner of making repeated attempts to enter her apartment despite disapproval. While recounting the experience, Aneri Thakkar, the victim, stated the delivery partner sought permission to smoke on her balcony. However, the executive, who was also allegedly drunk, insisted on entering her apartment even after she denied the permission.
While sharing her experience, Thakkar stated that a friend who had stayed over the weekend had forgotten her jacket at her apartment. She decided to send the jacket via the Uber parcel; however, the delivery partner seemed over-friendly during the phone call.
'Tried To Enter Home'
The victim further stated that the delivery partner asked if she had a bag to pack the jacket, which she gave to him. However, he further asked if he could charge his phone at her residence due to the long distance. While she agreed to charge the phone, he further sought permission to smoke from her balcony, which she firmly denied.

"I was like, ‘No, no, my friend is sleeping in my room, so I can’t take you to the balcony," she said. She further stated that the delivery partner was heavily drunk. "All throughout this process, this guy was so drunk. I could smell the alcohol standing 2 meters away from him, and this is when I realized that if I had let him in by chance, I don’t know what would have happened," she stated.
Uber India Responds
While responding to the post, Uber India described the behavior of the partner as "unacceptable", adding that an internal investigation will be launched. "Hi Aneri, the behaviour you’re describing is unacceptable. We want to look into this immediately. Please DM us with the related account and delivery details so we can investigate further," the firm assured.
