Section From Deepali Chowk To Majlis Park Is Operational
The RK Ashram Marg Metro Station will be an interchange station between the currently operational Blue Line and the under-construction Magenta Line. The sections from Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension and Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park have become operational. Construction on the remaining section is progressing rapidly. It will pass through densely populated residential and commercial areas of West, North, and Central Delhi.
The construction of underground stations in Sadar Bazaar and other crowded areas, tunneling under the railway line near Sabzi Mandi Railway Station, Rani Jhansi Flyover and the Red Line Metro Corridor have been successfully completed.
Construction is being carried out using state-of-the-art technologies and following strict safety standards, ensuring no disruption to road traffic. The project includes the construction of approximately seven-kilometre-long twin tunnels and underground stations at Derawal Nagar, Ghantaghar, Pulbangash, Sadar Bazaar, Nabi Karim, and RK Ashram Marg.
To decongest Central Delhi and strengthen connectivity to key administrative areas, including Central Vista, the Magenta Line has been extended from RK Ashram Marg to Inderlok. Once all corridors are completed, the Magenta Line will have a total length of approximately 89 kilometres, with 65 stations. It will be the Delhi Metro's longest automated corridor.
