Gurugram Rains: Amid the continuous rainfall, the Gurugram Police on Thursday advised corporate employees to work from home today due to the waterlogging in several regions. In its advisory, the Gurugram police stated that there is a high possibility of waterlogging and traffic congestion on main roads and intersections, leading to inconveniences. The authority advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings.
Gurugram Police Issues Advisory
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the authority requested the private firms to provide their employees the facility of work from home to ensure conveniences. "Gurugram Police requests all corporate institutions and private establishments to provide their employees with the 'Work From Home' facility on August 6, 2026," the post read.

"Reduced movement of unnecessary vehicles will ensure smooth traffic flow and assist in the uninterrupted operation of ambulances, fire brigades, and other emergency services," the Gurugram police added.
Rain Likely In Gurugram
The Gurugram Police, in its advisory, said that this step has been taken to ensure the safety of citizens, reduce traffic pressure and help the local administration in road management. According to the police, reducing the movement of vehicles will help the traffic management teams in maintaining smooth functioning of ambulance and emergency services.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that Gurugram will continue to witness rainfall for at least next three days. While the fresh rain has provided relief from the heat, the waterlogging at key sites has troubled the daily commuters.
The weather department further stated that rainfall is expected in the eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh at least till Thursday. Apart from this, similar weather conditions are likely in the western regions until August 7. Along with the rain activities, these regions are also likely to witness thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning.
