Instagram Romance Ends In Murder Of Woman; How Raipur Police Cracked Blind Killing Over Infidelity Suspicion

Naidunia Correspondent, Raipur | Police claimed to have solved the mystery of the body of an unidentified woman found in a pond in WRS Colony, located in the Khamtarai police station area, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The deceased was identified as Nandini Jain, a resident of Tikrapara.

Boyfriend Kills Woman Over Suspicion Of Infidelity

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the woman was murdered by her boyfriend over the suspicion of infidelity. According to police, there was an ongoing dispute between the two over infidelity. Upset over alleged betrayal, Karan Tandi, the accused, planned to kill her. He strangled the woman to death and fled after throwing her body into a pond in WRS Colony, intending to mislead people.

Police investigations have revealed that Nandini and Karan became friends through Instagram about three years ago. Their social media friendship gradually blossomed into a romantic relationship. The two were in constant contact, but for some time, their relationship had become increasingly strained. According to the initial police investigation, the accused suspected his girlfriend of infidelity, which led to frequent arguments between them.

Accused Throws Body Into Pond To Stage An Accident

It is reported that the two met on the day of the murder, where the argument escalated to the point where the accused strangled the woman to death. He then threw the body into a pond to make it appear like an accident or suicide.

How Police Cracked The Murder Mystery

However, after the body was found, the police intensified the investigation from both angles - accident and murder. After identifying the victim based on technical evidence (mobile location and call details), police succeeded in tracing the deceased's lover. Cops arrested and interrogated him, after which the motive of the crime came to the fore.

The police have taken Karan into custody and begun questioning him. The interrogation is expected to reveal significant information. The police are also investigating the circumstances, events, and other possible aspects of the murder.
