The Railway Board in Uttar Pradesh, due to yard remodelling work at Prayagraj station, has affected a total of 35 trains and diverted them to alternate routes. Additionally, 13 trains have been partially cancelled, while services of trains passing through nine different stations are expected to run late.
According to Shashikant Tripathi, Chief Public Relations Officer of the Prayagraj Railway Division, several major long-distance trains have been rerouted.
The daily train 12488 Anand Vihar Terminal-Jogbani will, on April 30, skip the Mirzapur route and instead run via Kanpur Central-Lucknow-Varanasi-Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction.
Similarly, 12505 Kamakhya-Anand Vihar Terminal will run on April 29 via Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay-Varanasi-Lucknow-Kanpur Central.
The return service, 12506 Anand Vihar Terminal-Kamakhya Express, scheduled for April 30, will also follow the Kanpur Central-Lucknow-Varanasi-Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay route, avoiding Mirzapur altogether.
The Anand Vihar Terminal-Puri Express (12816) will also be diverted on April 30 and will run directly via Kanpur Central-Lucknow-Varanasi instead of the Mirzapur route.
