Maharashtra Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow alert, warning of an intense heatwave across several parts of Maharashtra over the next few days. According to the weather office, temperatures are expected to rise significantly across multiple regions during this period.

In response to the forecast, the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) has advised citizens to take necessary precautions during heatwave conditions.

Hot And Humid Conditions Expected

The IMD has forecast hot and humid conditions for several parts of Maharashtra this week. According to the forecast, isolated areas in central Maharashtra and Vidarbha will experience these conditions between April 15 and 18 and 19, respectively. Similar weather conditions are expected in the Konkan region from April 15 to 17 and in Marathwada between April 16 and 18.

Authorities have advised citizens to follow safety guidelines and take necessary precautions during this period.

Mumbai Weather Update

For today, the IMD has forecast clear skies, with the maximum temperature likely to hover between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius. Hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets of the suburbs.

Advisory For Residents

- Residents are advised to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours (12 PM - 4 PM)

- Drink water regularly, even if you don't feel thirsty, to maintain hydration.

- Stay updated with local IMD weather advisories.

Heatwave Alert For Other States

In a weather bulletin released on Wednesday, the IMD stated that heatwave conditions are very likely in East Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Rayalaseema from April 15 to 19. These regions will record intense daytime heat. Odisha is likely to remain under alert from April 15 to 18, while Chhattisgarh is expected to experience heatwave conditions from April 16 to 19.
