Bengal Poll Violence: Amid the ongoing voting for the West Bengal Assembly election, a clash broke out between the supporters of TMC and Humayun Kabir-led Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AUJP) in Murshidabad. The incident took place while the AUJP founder was returning after visiting the area where several people got injured in a crude bomb blast on Wednesday.

Earlier while talking to the reporters, Kabir alleged that the TMC workers snatched the bags of local police. The officials stated that the situation is under control, adding that no violence occurred during the voting.

"In Nowda, Rejinagar and all 22 seats of Murshidabad, peaceful elections are taking place. But in 2 booths of Nowda here, in number 9 and number 10, some incident happened overnight. They snatched the bags of local Police," Kabir was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.

He further stated that voting should be held peacefully, adding that he has asked his supporters to maintain the decorum. "There was an attempt. I told my people to stay calm. Voting should be held peacefully. I have no intention of hurting or threatening anyone. I will visit there," Kabir stated.

Earlier on Wednesday, several people were injured after unidentified people hurled crude bomb at the crowd in Nowda region of Murshidabad district, reported news agency PTI. "I had stepped out yesterday to offer Namaz at around 8 pm... I was standing... two boys came and threw a bomb near my foot. Humayun Kabir's party workers have done this," a victim as quoted by news agency ANI.

ASP Majid Khan assured that the situation is under control. "The situation is peaceful. Nothing has happened anywhere," he stated.
