A new twist has emerged in the TCS Nashik case after a family member of one of the accused described the allegations as a “conspiracy” in connection with claims of sexual harassment and forcible religious conversion at a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) BPO unit in Maharashtra’s Nashik.
Among those arrested is 35-year-old Raza Rafiq Memon, one of seven employees taken into custody in the case.
“All the families are troubled. Everything is happening as per a conspiracy,” Memon’s uncle, Razak Kazi, told reporters on Thursday.
He also alleged the involvement of the Hindu organisation Bajrang Dal and claimed the case was “scripted”.

“The girl's family is involved. They are the ones who called Bajrang Dal. One person was released after the investigation, and then he was arrested again by the police... Everything that happened was scripted,” he said.
Separately, the father of another accused, Tausif Attar, rejected the allegations and termed the case “false”.
“We are well-educated. I am a graduate myself, and my son is also a graduate. He has completed his BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications). Our entire family is educated,” Tausif’s father, Bilal Fakir Mohammad Attar, told news agency IANS.

“Whatever is happening is wrong. It is not the fault of my son or any other child. They have been falsely implicated in a pre-planned manner. All the allegations against them are false,” he added.
What is TCS Nashik Case?
The controversy erupted after a police investigation at the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nashik facility led to the arrest of seven employees.
The investigation began in February after a worker of a political party registered a complaint with the Nashik City Police. The worker alleged that a Hindu woman working at the IT firm was observing the Ramzan fast, prompting authorities to launch a covert operation at the office.
The operation revealed that several team leaders at the IT firm were allegedly involved in sexual harassment, rape, and attempts to forcibly convert the religion of their co-workers. According to investigators, the WhatsApp chats further disclosed that a Malaysia-linked preacher, Irman, was introduced to the victims via video calls.
The arrested staffers, who have since been suspended, have been identified as Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, Raza Rafiq Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Shafi Sheikh, Asif Aftab Ansari, and HR head Ashwini Chainani. Another woman employee, Nida Khan, is currently on the run.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Nida Khan who has been portrayed as the absconding mastermind at the TCS-run BPO is currently in Mumbai, where she is expecting her first child, her family told the Hindustan Times.
Police are investigating nine complaints filed by eight women employees who alleged sexual and mental harassment by senior colleagues, with claims that the HR department failed to act on their grievances.
The complaints also include a case filed by a male employee alleging attempted religious conversion at the workplace.
While Chainani is accused of discouraging a complainant from filing a case, Khan has been named in one allegation related to religious harassment.
Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis called the incident serious and thanked TCS for cooperating with the investigation. He said the matter is being examined in depth and added that if it is found to be “corporate jihad,” its roots will be investigated.
