Parliament Monsoon Session Live Updates:  ASThe Parliament session enters its 12th day, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is introduced the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Opposing parties expected to press for discussions on the Ram Temple donations theft row and police excesses against students during the NEET agitation. Congress MP Manish Tewari has also submitted an Adjournment Motion in the Lok Sabha seeking a discussion on the proposed anti-defection law, adding to the Opposition's list of demands. In his notice, Tewari stated that he intended to move a motion for the adjournment of the House’s business to discuss “a definite matter of urgent public importance”.

The lower house will also take up the Bankers' Books Evidence Bill, 2026, while key parliamentary panels on Defence and External Affairs will meet separately. 

The lower house on Monday passed the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill that sought to raise the sanctioned strength of judges in the Supreme Court from 34 to 38. The Rajya Sabha passed the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, amid Opposition din.
