In a new development in the TCS Nashik case, the lawyer representing Nida Khan said it's striking to see her being portrayed as the mastermind. Advocate Baba Sayyed, following this, has reportedly challenged the charges.

The legal representative claimed that his client has been sensationalised and is wrongly portrayed in the public eye. Nida, Khan with some other employees was suspended from the company last week. Her letter read that some “serious matter” led to suspension.

In an interview with the ANI, Sayyed said, "... If you look at the FIR, there are no mentions of forced religious conversion... I don't know why she's being portrayed as the mastermind when her involvement is only mentioned in one CR... The only allegation against her is that she hurt religious sentiments... If she comes forward, she will be arrested... She was never the HR... The suspension letter sent to her through the company also mentioned her as a process associate..."

Her family claimed that she joined the organization in December 2021 and works as a telecaller for the sales staff. They stated, "She has never been associated with the HR team," and that she is supervised by multiple levels of senior staff.

What Is The Matter About?

The matter came to light after allegations of forced religious conversion, sexual harassment, and workplace exploitation at Tata Consultancy Services' (TCS) Nashik unit were reported. A 23-year-old employee filed the complaint, alleging that her senior coworker Danish Shaikh had harassed her sexually and had engaged in a sexual relationship with her under false pretenses of marriage.

Nine FIRs have been filed, and several people have been arrested, including six team leaders and an HR officer, after a 40-day undercover probe. One of the accused is Nida Khan.

A male employee's remarks have further intensified the issue surrounding Tata Consultancy Services' Nashik unit. For the last few days, it has been under close investigation due to significant allegations of sexual harassment and forced religious conversions.

Company leadership has acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations and reiterated a zero-tolerance stance on misconduct, stating that it is cooperating fully with authorities. The unfolding case has sparked a broader debate within the IT industry about workplace culture, the effectiveness of grievance mechanisms, and the need for stronger safeguards to protect employees.
