The Vivo Y05 hasn’t arrived with the usual hype. No event, no big announcements. Vivo simply listed it on its website and pushed it to offline stores. Walk into a retail shop and you’ll likely spot it already.
Straightforward Pricing, No Confusion
The phone comes in two variants. You get 4GB RAM with 64GB storage as the base option, while the second version offers 128GB storage with the same RAM. There’s also support for virtual RAM, going up to 8GB, which should help a bit with everyday multitasking.

Colour options are simple too: midnight blue and champagne gold. Nothing flashy, just safe choices.
The Display Is Where It Gets Interesting
For a budget phone, Vivo has tried to do something noticeable here. The Y05 features a large 6.74-inch HD Plus display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That means scrolling through apps or social media should feel smoother than what you’d usually expect at this price.
It’s still an LCD panel with a waterdrop notch, but Vivo has added brightness tweaks and eye-care features to make it easier on the eyes during long use.
Cameras Keep It Basic
This isn’t a camera-first phone. You get an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It’ll handle casual photos and video calls, but that’s about it. No big claims here, and honestly, none needed in this segment.
Battery Might Be The Real Reason To Look At It
The biggest talking point is the battery. Vivo has packed in a 6500mAh unit, which is larger than what you usually see in this category. It won’t charge very fast with 15W support, but it should easily last long, which matters more for a lot of buyers.

So Who Is This For?
The Vivo Y05 feels like a phone that sticks to basics but tries to get a few important things right. A smoother display and a bigger battery are doing most of the heavy lifting here.
If you’re just looking for something reliable that doesn’t need frequent charging, this might quietly make sense.
