Amid conflict in the Middle East, Iranian Embassies in different countries are sharing AI-generated videos to mock United States President Donald Trump’s one-sided claims. The videos appear to be satirical in nature and are widely circulated on social media. A new video showing the US President as a “minion” comes after Trump claimed on Wednesday that he is working toward permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran Mocks Trump's Attempts

In a recent video shared by the Iranian News Agency in Arabic on X, Trump is shown as a “minion” from the animated film Despicable Me. The video shows him repeatedly trying to reopen the Strait of Hormuz but failing each time. Other characters representing different countries are also shown reacting in the background as Trump makes repeated efforts.

The video minion representing Trump is shown floating on a piece of wood with a US flag. He counts down and expects the Strait to open, but nothing happens. On another platform, characters representing countries such as Qatar, the UAE, Britain, France, and Japan are shown cheering. The clip then shows an Iranian character pressing a red button, after which a “caution tape” appears over the Strait, symbolising control over the waterway.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Iranian Embassy in Tajikistan, had shared an AI-generated picture showing a portrayal of Jesus pushing Trump down.

US Warns Iran

Meanwhile, on Thursday, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth warned that Washington is “reloading with more power than before,” highlighting military readiness as the April 22 deadline nears. He asserted that the maritime blockade against Iran will be maintained "for as long as it takes." Hegseth stated that American forces are prepared to restart military strikes should Tehran decline a potential peace agreement.
